Belleville General

Hospital Auxiliary

About Us

The Women’s Hospital Auxiliary was organized April 28, 1938, at a meeting held in the City Hall Council Chambers by a Private Member’s Bill, passed in the Provincial Legislature. In 1955, the Women’s Hospital Auxiliary was granted representation on the Belleville General Hospital Board of Governors. In October 1974, the name was changed to Belleville General Hospital Auxiliary to reflect the inclusion of men as volunteers. Belleville General Hospital Auxiliary became a Registered Not-for-Profit organization in 1997.

Donations

While fundraising is not the main focus of the Belleville General Hospital Auxiliary, it is something that we work on and it supports our volunteer efforts and the equipment needs of the hospital. We don’t have an employee taking care of fundraising for us, in fact we don’t have any employees, we’re totally a volunteer group.
